A Storytelling Jazz Salon with Guzheng & Voices
More than a concert, this is an evening of musical storytelling—an intimate salon where songs speak.
Five soulful musicians join forces to reimagine beloved Chinese classics. Folk sincerity meets jazz spontaneity, modern structures embrace timeless melodies, and familiar tunes are reborn with fresh textures and unexpected folds.
· Velvet-rich vocals drift through piano refrains and the raw emotion of jazz improvisation.
· The guzheng becomes a whisper of wind, the bass traces each step, the piano holds time in its hands, and the drums echo the heartbeat of every song.
· No longer bound by tradition, the guzheng sways with jazz rhythms and paints the city night in all its hazy, restless beauty.
This is not about new songs. It's about old songs made new—and the stories between the notes, waiting to be heard once more.

Artist Biographies
Elodie Lee – Vocals A Taipei-born vocalist with a warm, expressive tone, fluent in Mandarin, English, French, and Spanish. Moving effortlessly between jazz, folk, bossa nova, and classical, she prioritizes musical storytelling over mere virtuosity. A seasoned performer at the Freespace Jazz Festival, she recently completed a mini-tour in Japan.
Lea Cheung – Guzheng An Australian-registered music therapist and internationally acclaimed guzheng artist holding top performance certifications from the Central and Shanghai Conservatories. Bronze medalist at the 2022 World Guzheng Competition, she masterfully blends traditional strings with jazz and improvisation. She is set for a European tour in summer 2026.
Freeman Lok – Keyboard Classically trained at Cambridge University’s Faculty of Music, Freeman blends deep academic foundation with compelling stage presence. His trio was featured at the Freespace Jazz Festival in both 2024 and 2025. He remains a prominent rising talent across both jazz and pop circuits.
Jimmy Pittman – Double Bass Chicago-born and Hong Kong-based since 2012, Jimmy is a foundational pillar of the local music scene. Proficient on both upright and electric bass, he is a first-call player celebrated for his rock-solid grooves across jazz, funk, and rock styles.
Tim Ng – Drums A Berklee College of Music graduate and a dynamic driving force in the local live music circuit. Known for his exceptional versatility and timekeeping, he performs regularly across diverse genres including jazz, funk, and rock, bringing an energetic contemporary edge to the stage.

1. Participation in the event is entirely voluntary. Before registering and making any payment, all participants must carefully read these Terms and Conditions. By registering, participants acknowledge that they have read, understood, and agreed to be bound by these Terms and Conditions.
2. Please arrive at Urban Sky, 9/F, Hysan Place at least 10 minutes before the start of the event.
3. No change or refund request will be accepted once booking is confirmed
4. If Typhoon No. 8 or above or Black Rainstorm signal is in force 4 hours before the activity starts, the event will be cancelled without further notice.
5. Declaration - Personal Data Privacy
By participating in the workshop/event, the Participant hereby confirms that he/she has read, understood and accepted the Hysan Group's Privacy Policy Statement and the Personal Information Collection Statement. Participant also agrees to Hysan’s use of his/her personal data in the manner and for the purposes described in the Privacy Policy Statement and the Personal Information Collection Statement. · The participant is aware that photographs and videos will be taken during the the workshops/events, and they consent to Hysan and the Event Partner taking and using these photographs and videos (“Recordings”) for their purposes. The Recordings belongs to and is the absolute property of Hysan and the Event Partner.
· These terms and conditions shall be construed in accordance with the law of Hong Kong, and the parties shall submit to the exclusive jurisdiction of the court of Hong Kong in case of dispute.
· In case of any disputes, the decisions of Hysan and the Event Partner shall be final and binding on all parties.
· The English version of these terms and conditions shall prevail wherever there is any inconsistency of conflict between the Chinese and English versions.
