Experience the mastery of two distinct art forms, Kantha and Kalighat, through an immersive exhibit by MeMeraki and SAA Academy that transforms Lee Gardens Area into a living gallery.

Workshop 1:

Kantha: A Woven Legacy of Art

Explore the vibrant world of Kantha embroidery with master artist Mahamaya Sikdar. This workshop unveils the ancient Bengali craft where upcycled textiles transform into vivid narratives. Create a lotus motif—a symbol of purity and creation—and join in preserving the sustainable legacy of Kantha.

Join master artist Sonali Chitrakar in an immersive workshop on Kalighat painting—a 19th-century Kolkata art form known for its bold lines, vibrant hues, and satirical narratives. Learn to create a signature “Cat Holding a Fish” piece that critiques societal double standards while refining your artistic skills and preserving this cherished folk tradition.

2. Please arrive at Urban Sky, 9/F, Hysan Place at least 10 minutes before the start of the event. 

3. No change or refund request will be accepted once booking is confirmed.  

4. If No. 8 Typhoon or above or Black Rainstorm signal is in force 4 hours before the activity starts, the event will be cancelled without further notice. 

5. Declaration - Personal Data Privacy

By participating in the event, the participant hereby agrees that Hysan Development may process all relevant personal data provided for the purpose of registering for the event. All personal data held by Hysan Development will be securely stored and handled. This declaration includes the following:

· The participant gives consent voluntarily and without being coerced or threatened in any way.

· Hysan Development shall not disclose the personal data provided here to any third party without the participant's prior written consent.

· The participant agrees to waive any right to claim compensation or reward arising from Hysan Development using the personal data for authorized purposes.

· The participant is aware that they can notify Hysan Development in writing at any time to withdraw their authorization. Subsequently, they have the right to request the cessation of Hysan Development’s use of the relevant personal data.

· The participants are aware that photographs and videos will be taken during the event, and they consent to Hysan Development using these photographs and videos for their purposes.
