Programme Introduction 

This summer, The Art Laboratory is bringing an exciting collection of original art workshops to Playdot!

Inspired by World Masterpieces, Hong Kong Local Aesthetics, and Storytelling, the workshops invite children aged 2.5 – 12 to explore creativity through a variety of artistic media, including slime, plaster diffusing stones, tie-dye, mosaic art, and music box making.

Children will develop observation skills, creativity, aesthetic appreciation, and problem-solving abilities while enjoying a fun and immersive artistic journey.

4 Core Themed Series

Series 1: World Artists

Monet - Water Lily Pond Music Box: Step into the Impressionist world of light and shadow, and bring Monet's classic water lily pond into 3D life to create a dreamlike music box.

Van Gogh - Starry Night Lamp: Express Van Gogh's expressive colors and bold brushstrokes, transforming the timeless masterpiece "The Starry Night" into a soul-warming painted night lamp.

Series 2: Hong Kong Patterns & Local Aesthetics

Traditional Mosaic Tiles Tray: Discover the structural pattern prints of old Hong Kong architecture, experience the craft of traditional mosaic tiling, and create a beautiful yet practical art tray.

Series 3: Signature Selection

Tie Dye Bunny: Explore the fascinating chemical reaction between fabrics and patterns. Experience the art of traditional tie-dyeing to create a one-of-a-kind plush bunny friend.

Series 4: Creative Storytelling x Authentic Sensory Play

"HK Dim Sum" Storytelling x HK Foodie Diffusing Stone: Embark on a local culinary journey through an engaging picture-book story, and use plaster to craft a highly realistic, aromatic "Dim Sum Steamer" diffusing stone.

"Hong Kong Tour" Storytelling x Iced Lemon Tea Slime: Travel through Hong Kong through a guided story and enjoy a whimsical sensory stimulation, mixing up a fun, visually delightful classic Hong Kong Style Iced Lemon Tea Slime.


Course Details

Dates: Jul 14, 16, 17, 21, 23, 24, 28, 30, 31 and Aug 4, 6, 7 (Every Tue, Thur and Fri) 

Times: 14:00 – 15:00 / 15:30 – 16:30

Group Size: 1 : 6 (Small Class Ratio¸Minimum 4 to start) 

Language: Primarily conducted in Cantonese with supplementary English

Age: 2.5 – 12 years (Parents Parental accompaniment is recommended for children under 6 years old.)

Course Fees:

Single Workshop HK$520 per class

Friends And Family Package

3-Class Package HK$1,500 (Average HK$500 per class)

6-Class Package HK$2,820 (Average HK$470 per class)

*Please select your preferred workshop theme or the *Family & Friends Package* to enrol. Once your registration is successful, we will confirm your class date and time with you by email.

• Each class registration is limited to 1 child. 

• Successful Payment & Class Registration cannot be changed or cancelled.  Payment will not be refunded in any form. 

• Please arrive at the venue 5 minutes prior to class start time for registration. All classes will start as scheduled. Participants who are late for the class will not be given any make-up class. 

• The class cannot be exchanged for cash or used to redeem other products or services. 

• If the class does not meet the minimum participant requirement, it will be cancelled. A refund will be processed, which may take up to 21 working days. 

• The Art Laboratory and Hysan Marketing Services Limited reserve the right to end or extend the programme and/or to modify, revise or change any of these Terms and Conditions at any time, without any prior notice and without incurring any liability to any party whatsoever. 

• Participants must take care and safeguard their personal belongings. The Art Laboratory and Hysan Marketing Services Limited shall not take any responsibility and shall not assume any liability, either directly or indirectly, for any loss, theft, damages, accidents, injury, death, special incidental or consequential damage that may be suffered by any guests or third parties arising from their presence at the venue. 

· Event will be cancelled if any of the following signals is issued and still in force 3 hours before the activity is scheduled to begin: Tropical Cyclone Warning Signal No.8 or above; Black Rainstorm Warning Signal; or extreme conditions. All the affected events will be cancelled or subject to other arrangements as shall be notified by The Art Laboratory and Hysan Marketing Services Limited. The above arrangement is for reference only. In all cases, participants should consider the weather, road and transport situation to decide whether to attend the events. Classes cancelled due to inclement weather may be rescheduled within 14 days at Playdot, subject to availability. The Art Laboratory and Hysan Marketing Services Limited reserve the right to determine the topic of all make-up classes.

• The Art Laboratory and Hysan Marketing Services Limited reserve the right to make the final decision in the case of any dispute. In the case of any conflict or inconsistency between the English and Chinese versions of these Terms and Conditions, the English version shall prevail.
